In the Women in Healthcare Security Network (WIHS), we celebrate strength in diversity, inclusivity, creativeness, and our bonds. Understanding that everyone begins in different places, supporting inclusion, and promoting a sense of belonging are ways to improve everyone’s quality of life. WIHS strives for a safe and inclusive place for all, regardless of background. We want to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive world. Moreover, we want to help create a culture where differences are valued and celebrated, and we believe we have the means to do it together! We believe that everyone, no matter their gender, has the potential to achieve their personal and professional goals, and we are here to empower and support each other every step of the way.
On this International Women’s Day, we encourage you to celebrate your accomplishments as a woman and recognize the other women who paved the way for our success today. Beyond that, we want to encourage everyone to support each other, less represented groups, and be a true advocate for equity today AND EVERY DAY.
For our WIHS community, including our allies, we invite you to celebrate this important day and join the fight for equity by spearheading some of the initiatives below in your workplace and community :
Create safe spaces for women to be authentic and speak up
Provide growth opportunities equally among workers of all genders
Give credit where credit is due
Speak up when witnessing unfair situations or toxic comments related to gender
Encourage dialog regarding diversity and inclusion with colleagues
Have awareness about women’s challenges

Our great colleague and WIHS ally Robert Harte, Security Manager at the Pleasanton Tech Center took the time to write an amazing message to the women in his team today. It was sweet, impactful, informative, and showed appreciation for all they bring to the team.
