The Security Talent Awards & Recognition (STAR) program was designed to enable a culture of appreciation that fits our work environment while bringing value to the department and allowing Security Services people managers from Blackstone Consulting, Inc., and Allied Universal to showcase the great work and impact security teams have in the care experience.
Security Services STAR Program Life Saving Award
Awarded to individuals who, while serving in any capacity with the department, performed extraordinary life-saving measures, preventing loss of life.
Healthcare Security Officer Lisa Trujillo, San Francisco Medical Center, NCAL
Officer Trujillo acted calmly and notified help right away when coming across a patient who was acting suicidal. Officer Trujillo’s actions prevented the patient from harming themself and safely mitigated a potentially tragic situation.
Healthcare Security Emergency Department Specialist Abdirizak Ali, Capitol Hill, WA
Emergency Department Specialist Abdirizak (Zak) Ali assisted in getting the medical team out to a patient who was suffering from a heart attack. Medical staff shared that if these first steps hadn’t been taken the patient wouldn’t have made it to emergency surgery for his heart. Great work Officer Abdirizak Ali!
Security Services STAR Program On-the-Spot Awards
Awarded to staff members recognized by a manager, colleague, visitor, member, patient, or external department staff for their great service.
BCI Information Management Specialist Billy Jelenic, National
Billy has been recognized by the ASP Program Manager and his Manager for being an amazing partner in hearing where there are gaps, suggesting mitigation, collaborating to build items, and delivering polished products - every time! Billy goes above and beyond his basic duties to deliver the best service, is a great team player - always willing to help their colleague, and has excellent customer service skills.
Healthcare Security Emergency Department Specialist Issac Salib, Bakersfield Behavior Health, SCAL
Security Emergency Department Specialist Isaac Salib goes above and beyond their basic duties to deliver the best service. Officer Salib has received positive feedback from supervisors, managers, colleagues, members, visitors, patients, and/or other KP staff about great customer service and has excellent customer service skills. He makes the staff feel safe.
Security Manager Jessica Budd, Walnut Creek, NCAL
Amazing teamwork! On June 19th, a tragic incident occurred at the Walnut Creek campus. The team went above and beyond and were proactive in the face of an intense situation, working well and cohesively to protect the individual's privacy and the scene. Police and investigators gave so much praise for how well the team worked and how much it impacted the outcome of their job at the scene. Hospital, law enforcement, and security leaders are praising their actions. Great work!

Awarded to staff members (or their next of kin) who, while serving in any capacity within the security services department, have been killed or seriously injured while caring for the safety and security of the workplace.
Awarded to individuals who, while serving in any capacity with the department, performed extraordinary life-saving measures, preventing loss of life.
Awarded to selected team members nominated for demonstrating consistent high performance and continuous improvement for their customers and in service delivery (subcategories with all department positions are available).
Service Milestones Award
Awarded to team members completing important service milestones such as 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 year anniversaries! No nomination needed.
