Santa Rosa client and patient recognize Security Officer Timothy Duffield for his immediate response when he observed a patient with stroke symptoms 

Security Officer Timothy Duffield, from Santa Rosa, received recognition from the Department of Neurology Chief and a patient. The patient shared that they were

most appreciative of Officer Duffield. He was the first person they encountered in the Emergency Department, and immediately noticed that the patient had stroke symptoms. Officer Duffield quickly flagged the patient and triggered the rapid stroke alert process. Both the patient and their family were impressed by Officer Duffield’s immediate response, which potentially saved the patient's life. 
The Neurology Chief shared, “providing excellent security services is a demanding job. In addition, having the clinical knowledge to recognize stroke symptoms says a lot about our dedicated security staff.”

San Francisco management recognizes Emergency Department Supervisor Reginald Cooper for being vigilant and preventing the theft of client property 

Emergency Department Supervisor (EDS) Reginald Cooper, from San Francisco, has been recognized several times by the client and the Allied Universal management 

San Francisco management recognizes Emergency Department Supervisor Reginald Cooper for being vigilant and preventing the theft of client property 

team as hard worker with a pleasant demeanor. EDS Cooper is well-known for being helpful and greeting everyone who enters the medical office building with a smile and calming presence. He is vigilant and always prepared to respond using proper de-escalation techniques in a respectable and empathetic manner.  

EDS Cooper recently prevented an attempted theft of several over-the-counter pharmacy items. When he observed the shoplifter putting items in their backpack, EDS Cooper calmly asked the suspect to return the items and place them back on the display rack. He then escorted the suspect out of the building.

EDS Cooper, thank you for your dedication to keeping visitors, members, and the client’s property safe!

Walnut Creek client recognizes Security Officer Juan Bernal for his calm demeanor and willingness to help in any situation 

The Emergency Department (ED) management team from Walnut Creek recently recognized Security Officer Juan Bernal. An ED team member shared,

“I have heard nothing but praise about Juan in the lobby. He is kind and calming to patients and their families. Our staff loves him!”

More than five client team members shared the same about Officer Bernal. The Assistant Nurse Managers have also praised him for his calm demeanor and willingness to help in any situation. Officer Bernal always goes above and beyond for patients, grabbing wheelchairs when necessary and helping in any way he can. ​

Officer Bernal, thank you for always exceeding expectations – your excellent service adds so much value to the care experience for patients, their families, and the clinical staff.​

grandchild received while in the ED and noted, “Special thanks to Security Officer Jovan Sanchez for his professionalism and empathy.”​

According to his Manager, Miguel Ruiz, this is one of many recognitions Officer Sanchez has received. Officer Sanchez is known for going above and beyond to provide the best care experience to everyone. Security Manager Ruiz said, “Officer Sanchez truly embodies what it means to be a healthcare security professional.”​

Assistant Security Manager Jeremy Briscoe is being recognized for taking quick action and saving the life of an expecting mother and baby 

Assistant Security Manager (ASM) Jeremy Briscoe was escorting an expecting  mother  from  the front   lobby   of   a  San  Francisco   healthcare​ facility when the patient 

Assistant Security Manager Jeremy Briscoe is being recognized for taking quick action and saving the life of an expecting mother and baby 

started to flush red in the face. While in transport in a hallway on the second floor, the patient’s symptoms worsened and then she passed out. ASM Briscoe ran to the Emergency Department and notified staff to quickly respond while contacting the Security Operations Center to call for support. Fortunately, after a battle in the ED, the patient and baby survived. 
Thank you, ASM Briscoe. Your rapid response helped save the life of an expecting mother and her unborn baby.  This story is a wonderful example of how Healthcare   Security   Officers   assist of how Healthcare Security Officers assist medical staff in saving lives by staying calm under pressure and rapidly responding as needed. You are a true Frontline Hero!

West LA Healthcare Security Officers Roderick Holloway, Richard Gomez, Christopher Frost, Latia west and Kim Whitaker prevented a suicide attempt

Healthcare Security Officers Roderick Holloway, Richard Gomez, Christopher Frost, Latia West and Kim Whitaker were recognized for preventing a suicide attempt in the 

West LA Healthcare Security Officers Roderick Holloway, Richard Gomez, Christopher Frost, Latia west and Kim Whitaker prevented a suicide attempt

parking garage of a client’s facility in West Los Angeles. The suicidal individual was arguing with another person who was encouraging them to seek help in the Emergency Department. The commotion caught the attention of the ED Security Team, who quickly requested the support needed.

 

The individual continued yelling and saying that they wanted to hurt themself while quickly heading to the stairs. Our heroes followed the individual as they turned to the nearest balcony ledge, where the Security Officers surrounded them, preventing a jump. Nurses assisted and admitted the individual into the ED.

The recognized Security Officers did a fantastic job! Their vigilance and quick response were lifesaving.  One small example of the major impact our Officers have every day! Thank you, heroes! 

Emergency Department Security Specialist Franklin Washington Remained Vigilant and Saved a Patient from Self-Harm

Manteca Emergency Department Security Specialist Franklin Washington successfully protected a patient brought in by local police due to their their expressed intention 

Emergency Department Security Specialist Franklin Washington Remained Vigilant and Saved a Patient from Self-Harm

of causing self-harm and committing suicide. Although

evaluated as a low-risk patient, ED Officer Washington watched them closely and attentively. When the ED officer introduced himself to the patient, they were receptive to talking but fidgety and unsettled. At one point, the patient inconspicuously attempted to wrap a blanket around their neck to try suffocation or hanging themself. ED Officer Washington immediately intervened, removed the object from the room, and compassionately talked with the patient. The Officer then learned that the patient had hidden the blanket before the Officer was assigned to watch them and was

also planning to throw a water pitcher on the electrical plug and outlet cord to electrocute themself. Officer Washington removed the potentially dangerous objects from the room and recommended that the clinical staff upgrade the patient to a higher risk level safety protocol. 
 

Thank you, Officer Washington, for remaining vigilant and saving a patient from self-harm or death at a highly vulnerable time. Your actions save lives, making you a true hero!

Security Supervisor Howe Received the Atlas Award for Exceptional Leadership and Support to Staff and Members 

Healthcare Security Supervisor Kyle Howe from Santa Rosa was presented the Q1 2022 Atlas Award, a quarterly Support Services recognition. The client leadership

team expressed great appreciation for Supervisor Howe's support with a patient that triggered fear in their staff and physicians on a level not typically seen sharing, “Kyle was patient, calm, firm, and brought a sense of safety to this team!” 

They also expressed gratitude for Supervisor Howe's responsiveness, praising him for consistently going above and beyond to support their staff, teams, patients, and visitors, in addition to completing his operational responsibilities. 

Supervisor Kyle Howe, thank you for the exceptional leadership and support that you provide while keeping everyone safe. Your service and commitment are greatly appreciated!

Officer Richard Board’s Quick Response Prevents the Theft of Client Property 

Healthcare Security Officer Richard Board was patrolling in the parking lot of an Antioch facility when he observed someone loading client-owned traffic barricades 

Officer Richard Board’s Quick Response Prevents the Theft of Client Property 

into a private vehicle. The Officer immediately took down the license plate number, alerted security dispatch, and approached the individual asking for identification or credentials to prove they were authorized to access the barricades. When the individual did not have credentials or an explanation, Officer Board directed them to return the items and told them he would contact local law enforcement if needed. The Officer’s calm and direct approach caused the individual to immediately comply.

 

It is rewarding to see Officer Board's diligence and quick response preventing the theft of client property and highlighting the significance of security's value. Officer Board's excellent service is much appreciated. Great job, Officer Board!
